How to Use Liquid Sandpaper on Furniture to skip sanding and get a smooth finish. Easy table makeover with deglosser and all-in-one paint.
This isn’t how I do every project, but when I find a piece where liquid sandpaper will work, I’m all in.
I especially love picking up these small round tables. They’re usually so well built and sturdy, and they’re the perfect size to test out a new paint color without committing to a big project. This one ended up being a perfect candidate for it.

Since I could use liquid sandpaper, I got to skip all the mess and extra work of scuff sanding. And with an all-in-one paint, the whole process stayed simple, fewer steps, fewer products, and way less effort overall.

If you’ve been curious about how to use liquid sandpaper on furniture, this is a great example of when it actually makes sense to use it.

Easy Tutorial on How to Use Liquid Sandpaper on Furniture
This could not be any easier. The first thing you need to do is make sure your piece is clean. I shared the different ways that I clean furniture pieces before a makeover HERE.

Then, take an old rag and apply the liquid sandpaper all over the piece of furniture where you will be painting it.

Once that is completely dry, I start applying my favorite all-in-one paint. This paint has the primer, paint, and topcoat in one can, so you don’t have to buy separate products or do the extra steps. This paint also self-levels, which makes the finish very smooth.

Once the first coat of paint was dry, I added a second coat of paint. Once that was dry, the table was finished.
This was the first time I have used this color, and it is such a pretty color. It is one of Dixie Belle’s newest colors, and I was so excited to find a project to use it on.

Projects like this are exactly why I keep liquid sandpaper on hand.
Not every piece can skip sanding, but there are times when it works well, and when it does, it makes the whole process faster, easier, and a lot less messy.

Between the deglosser and the all-in-one paint, this makeover came together with minimal effort and just a couple of products, which I’m always a fan of.

So, if you come across a solid piece like this, don’t overlook it. It might just be the perfect opportunity to try how to use liquid sandpaper on furniture and keep things simple.
