How To Become A Full-Time Furniture Flipper

  • Start small and build your skills.

If you’re new to furniture flipping, it’s important to start small and build your skills. Look for easy-to-upgrade pieces such as chairs, small tables, or nightstands. This will help you build your confidence and develop your style before tackling larger and more complex projects. You can even flip pieces that just need a good cleaning. The goal is to buy low and sell higher. So, if you come across a piece that just needs a good cleaning and some beautiful staging to sell, that counts! Those are the best flips because you don’t have to go through a makeover process.

  • Build your tools and supplies.

To become a successful furniture flipper, you’ll need the right tools and supplies. But, you don’t need a lot of tools to get started. To start, invest in quality sandpaper, paint, and brushes. Starting a flipping business doesn’t have to cost a lot at all. Build your tools and supplies as you start selling and as your skills get stronger.

  • Develop your style and brand.

As you gain more experience, it’s important to develop your style and brand. Think about what sets you apart from other furniture flippers and focus on that. Whether it’s a specific color palette, a certain type of furniture, or a unique design aesthetic, having a clear brand will help you attract more customers and build a loyal following.

  • Market and sell your work.

Marketing and selling your work is key to becoming a full-time furniture flipper. Start by creating a portfolio of your work and sharing it on social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. You can also create a website or Etsy shop to sell your pieces. Collaborate with local businesses such as interior designers, realtors, or home decor stores to showcase your work and reach a wider audience.

  • Manage your finances.

To become a full-time furniture flipper, it’s important to manage your finances. Keep track of your expenses, such as materials and tools, and price your pieces accordingly. Make sure to also consider your time and labor when pricing your work. It’s important to set realistic goals and create a business plan to help you achieve them.
