Why Dark Green?

Dark green is a versatile and timeless color that adds depth and richness to any piece of furniture. Green is also my favorite and this is a new color that Dixie Belle launched that I couldn’t wait to get on a piece of furniture. Dark green exudes a sense of sophistication and pairs beautifully with a variety of decor styles, from modern to rustic. By choosing a dark green finish for your dresser makeover, you’ll create a statement piece that commands attention and infuses your space with personality.

Supplies Used In This Dark Green Dresser Makeover

Krud Kutter

Paint

Topcoat (I used Satin)

Paintbrush

Clean Rags

Wood Knobs

Gel Stain (Golden Ash)

Step 1: Clean & Prep The Dresser

Begin by removing any hardware and thoroughly cleaning the dresser surface. You can find the best cleaners for a makeover HERE.  Once dry, I applied Krud Kutter all over the dresser. This Krud Kutter will clean the piece as well but I like to do a separate cleaning before using it. Once I have applied the Krud Kutter well, I use a damp rag to “clean” the surface again. You can repeat this process as many times as you think your piece needs it.

Step 2: Prime & Paint the Surface

You should always prime your furniture when painting. If you use my favorite all-in-one paint, you don’t have to do the separate steps of priming, painting, and topcoating because they are all in one can!! That is what I used on this makeover. I applied the all-in-one paint and waited for it to dry. Then, I applied another coat.  This paint cuts your project time by more than half and gets rid of all the extra products and steps! It is a game-changer. Find my full review of this paint HERE

Step 3: Apply Topcoat

You don’t have to add another layer of topcoat to your pieces with the all-in-one paint since it is built into the can of paint but since I used the Krud Kutter, I added one layer of satin topcoat once the paint dried.

Step 4: Add Hardware

Once the topcoat was dry, I added the knobs and it was ready to stage.

This dresser was the perfect piece to use the Krud Kutter and the new dark green paint color. Not all pieces will be suitable for the Krud Kutter but it is nice when you find one that is.
