A neutral traditional area rug is a great way to add color, pattern, and personality to a room without overwhelming the space. We recently added the Mudgee Area Rug from Boutique Rugs to our four-season porch, and I love how it brings everything together!
If you have followed me for a while, you probably know that I have shared their rugs before. This is our 10th rug from Boutique Rugs! We have their rugs in several spaces in our home, and I keep going back because I love their designs, the price, the quality, and the variety of styles they offer.
I also have an exclusive discount to share! You can shop the already reduced prices at Boutique Rugs and use my code to get an additional discount on eligible purchases. I’ll share all the details below.

Our New Neutral Traditional Area Rug
The Mudgee Area Rug is the newest addition to our four-season porch, and the colors are what caught my attention first.
It has a beautiful combination of charcoal, cream, tan, beige, and light slate tones. The colors have a softly faded appearance that gives the rug a vintage-inspired look.
I love that it has several colors in it without being too bold. The cream and beige create a softer background, while the charcoal and gray-blue details add contrast. The little touches of tan and peach warm everything up.

The traditional medallion pattern and floral scroll work give it a classic look, but the muted color palette keeps it from feeling too formal or old-fashioned.
This is what I love about a neutral traditional area rug. You get the interest of a patterned rug without having to decorate the entire room around it.
Why I Chose This Neutral Traditional Area Rug for Our Four-Season Porch
When I am choosing a rug, I think about how it will work with the furniture, flooring, and other colors already in the room.
I didn’t want something that would take over the space. I wanted a rug that would add pattern and color while still allowing the other things in the room to stand out.
The Mudgee does exactly that.

Another thing I really like about this rug is how it feels underfoot. It isn’t a flat, thin rug. It has some softness and thickness to it, so it feels nice when you walk across it, but it isn’t so thick that it becomes difficult to live with. I can still vacuum it easily, and I don’t have to worry about little things getting lost down in a really deep pile. I like having that little bit of cushion without having a super thick rug.
The neutral colors work well with different wood tones and furniture finishes. The traditional pattern adds interest, and the slightly distressed look gives it a relaxed feel.
I also like that this style isn’t tied to one decorating trend. If I decide to change the pillows, accessories, or other decor in our four-season porch, I won’t have to find a completely different rug to make everything work.
A neutral traditional area rug is a great choice when you want something that can work with different styles and changes you make over time.

Mudgee Area Rug Details
I always like to share a few product details because the appearance of a rug is only part of the decision when you are shopping for one.
Here is some information about the Mudgee Area Rug:
- Colors: Charcoal, cream, tan, beige, and light slate.
- Style: Traditional.
- Pattern: Central medallion with floral details and scroll work.
- Material: 100% polypropylene.
- Construction: Machine woven.
- Pile height: 0.24 inches.
- Made in: Turkey.
- Care: Spot clean with mild detergent.
Polypropylene is a popular material for area rugs because it is durable, stain-resistant, and relatively easy to maintain. It is a practical option for everyday living.
The Mudgee has a medium pile, so it isn’t an extra-thick, plush rug. I recommend adding a rug pad underneath if you want extra cushioning and help keeping it in place.
One thing to know is that this is an indoor rug, not a designated outdoor rug. Since our four-season porch is enclosed, it works for the space. It is also not machine washable, so be sure to follow the manufacturer’s care instructions.

Why We Keep Choosing Rugs From Boutique Rugs
I mentioned earlier that this is our 10th rug from Boutique Rugs. I think that says quite a bit about how much we enjoy shopping with them!
One of the biggest reasons I keep going back is their selection. They have so many different styles, colors, patterns, and sizes. Whether you like traditional, modern, farmhouse, boho, vintage-inspired, colorful, or neutral designs, there are so many options.
I also appreciate that they have rugs at different price points. You don’t have to spend a fortune to find something that makes a room look great.
We have used their rugs in several areas of our home, and we have been happy with the quality and how they look in our spaces.
I love finding things that make our home feel more finished without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money. A good area rug can completely change the look of a room, and Boutique Rugs has become one of my favorite places to shop for them.
