5 Items To Carry With You When Thrifting

There are certain items to carry with you when thrifting that will make your thrifting trips successful and fun every single time.

This is needed on every thrifting trip. I always have a small tape measure in my purse. Not only is it great for measuring to see if an item is going to fit where you want it, but I have also used it to see if an item would even fit in my car. Do I need to call for backup or can I get this home on my own? A tape measure is a must-have when thrifting.

  • Cell Phone

My cell phone is used on every thrifting trip. Sometimes, I am looking for things for other people so I take photos to send to those people. It is a great idea to have photos and screenshots of inspiration pieces. Those photos should be referred to when shopping in thrift stores for similar pieces and items. Your phone is your friend in so many capacities when thrifting.

  • Google App

This goes along with your cell phone. If you aren’t using the Google lens app, you are missing out. Download the Google app and then head to my video HERE to see how it works. Once you start utilizing this app inside a thrift store, you will be hooked. Once I discovered it, I went all around our home to find out more about the pieces we have found over the years.

  • Measurements

To go along with your tape measure, it is imperative that you have a list of items you are looking for AND the measurements of those items. Many thrift stores don’t have a return policy. You need to make sure the things you are buying will fit what you need. If there are certain items I am looking for and the sizes I need, I keep a running list in my “notes” app on my phone. Since I always have my cell phone with me, it is easiest for me to keep it there.

  • Cart

Every time you enter a thrift store, grab a cart or at least a shopping basket. There is nothing worse than finding an item or many items that you can’t carry in your hands and then having to run to the front of the store to grab a cart to head back only to find that someone else has it in their cart or basket. THE WORST! Always carry a basket or push a cart when thrifting!

I hope you will utilize these items and make sure to have them with you on the next thrifting trip. These simple items will make the biggest difference in your shopping experience and the things you are bringing home.

If you do use these items, I would love to see them! Take a photo and share it on Instagram. Tag me @mycreativedays so I can cheer you on!
