Felted Pom-Pom Christmas Pillow DIY

2 Mins read

Looking for a cute Christmas pillow? Make a DIY Felted Pom-Pom Christmas Pillow in three short steps! There is no sewing involved and you only need three supplies to create it.

I am on a roll with Christmas pillows this year.

I started with the DIY Vintage Wool Christmas Pillow

When I saw the Christmas tree pillows in the Bullseye Playground section at Target, my mind started racing with so many ideas. They are a great color, the fabric is a wool feel, and they are a good size. The best part is that they only cost $5.

This DIY Felted Pom-Pom Christmas Tree is so easy to make and you come away with a cute pillow for cheap that is timeless and you will use every year!

3 Easy Steps To Make This Pillow

cut string

  • First, cut the garland so you can get the felted balls off the string.

ball off garland

  • Remove the felted balls from the string.

TIP: Only remove the balls you need. You can always tie the end on the garland again and use the rest of it as a garland. Or, you can remove all the balls and use the balls for other projects and/or decor.

hot glue

  • Use hot glue (or you can sew them) to attach the balls to the tree pillow in any pattern you like.

  • After the glue dries, you will need to pull away any leftover glue strands and strings. I also used scissors to cut some of the “hairs” that were coming up on the balls.

This is the easiest project ever. I love that I still have a lot of felted balls to create or decorate with too.

I love a good project that only uses a few supplies and has minimal steps to get the final look. Similar pillows I have seen like this cost a lot more than this one does to make. The felted balls alone are expensive to buy. Trust me. I have searched to find them at a reasonable price. I always find great projects that have felted balls involved so this makes it super easy and inexpensive to get an entire strand of them. Walmart also has other colors of felted ball garlands if you are looking for other colors.

You could use the excess felted balls to create some of my felted acorns or felted ball wreath ornaments!

Is this a project you would try? If you do, please post a photo on Instagram and tag me @mycreativedays so I can see it!
