Easter Tablescapes: Easy Decor For Your Spring Table

March 27, 2017 14 Comments

It is time to talk Easter tablescapes. I have joined more of my blogging friends today to bring you many ways to add spring to your table this year. I love putting together tablescapes. It can be as simple or as involved as you want it to be. It can cost a lot of money or no money at all. My favorite way to start a tablescape is by shopping our home to see what I can use to make a beautiful tablescape. This Easter tablescape was easy and inexpensive to pull together. I used pieces I picked up at yard sales and thrift stores along with fresh flowers and beans (yes, beans) to put it together.

First things first. When I set up any tablescape, I think about what dishes I will need to make room for. Am I having a buffet-style meal, a family-style meal or just appetizers or desserts? Once I have that figured out, I can start the tablescape. I set this spring tablescape for our family of four. I started with thrift store, woven chargers, our Dollar Tree plates and plain white napkins at each setting.

This table could only be set for us four because of the glass, flower bowls I found at a thrift store while I was in Minneapolis. I could not pass them up. They are a great size and they have “spring” written all over them!!! But, there were only four of them. That is the one thing about shopping thrift stores. Many times, you don’t have the liberty to buy as many as you need. Four bowls are perfect for our family, but if we had company over, I would need more. I still bought them because they were too cute, they were only 99¢ and we will use them for desserts and salads during family meals.

The nests I had around our home were great for each place setting. I used the Teakwood Coasters I got from Apollo Box underneath each nest. The coasters can also be used for drinking glasses once dinner is served.

An old, wood box from a barn is the perfect centerpiece for this spring tablescape. I picked up a $3.99 bunch of flowers at Aldi as well as two bags of dry, white beans for 59¢. I poured the beans in the wood box and used milk bottles as vases for the flowers. The smaller bottles are perfect for tablescapes because it keeps the flower arrangements shorter so you can still see across the table.

I also added beans to each flower bowl so wood eggs sat up easily inside them. Chalkboard toothpick labels were great for name cards inside the bowl.

I incorporated a wood, bead garland for texture on the table. My Repurposed Votive Candlesticks add more rustic touches.

This linen tablecloth was a HomeGoods find on clearance for $5. It is neutral and perfect for any occasion.

The white vase and faux plant were from my recent trip to IKEA. Greenery is a must for a spring tablescape.

If you have never decorated with dried beans, you should try it. They are a great decorating tool to always have on hand. They are cheap and can be put in vases, boxes, and tiered trays to add texture and color.

Every time I am at Aldi, I grab flowers. They are so inexpensive and brighten up every space I add them to.

Easter tablescapes are done and ready to welcome the new season. It always amazes me how fast time flies through each season. I would be fine if things slowed down a bit. What about you? Do you want to savor the season a little bit longer?

What a beautiful Spring Tablescape! I love the individual bowls holding placecards. Aldi’s has such great prices on fresh flowers. Have you tried Trader Joe’s for flowers? They are very reasonable too and they have a large selection! So happy to be hopping with you all!

I love how the table turned out and all the frugal ideas you used to create it!! I also love the idea of using dried beans under the wooden eggs and in the centerpiece. It kind of look like small white rocks and make and brightens the table altogether. I feel like my local Aldi’s flowers never look this great – maybe I find them when they are already going out on sale!! Lovely table!
