I have to interrupt my regularly scheduled gift guide post this week to bring you a post a lot of you have been asking for. Every time I share a photo of our living room and our sofa is in it, I get tons of questions asking me where we got it. I have been meaning to write this post for the longest time, but deadlines and other projects have gotten in the way and it always got pushed back. It is finally time! I am happy to be crossing this post off the list so I can get this information out to you. Cottage style furniture is so pretty and sofas are the staple piece that sets the stage in the living room.
I love saving tons of money when I decorate our home. It is my passion and what I strive to share here on the blog. I am here today to tell you that even the staple pieces, like cottage style sofas, don’t have to cost a ton of money. If you do your homework, you can find great pieces that will fit your budget and your style. BUT – I did your homework for you this time! I found 20 cottage style sofas all under $800!

In the beginning stages of this blog, our living room had a love seat and two chairs in it. They were okay, but they weren’t my favorite.
Let me tell you how our sofa came to be.
When we got this sofa, I was watching kids in our home and couldn’t leave during the day. Matt had a day off and was returning something at TJ Maxx. He called me and told me that the store was having a big clearance sale. He was in the furniture area and he saw a sofa that he knew I would love. My first question was, “How much is it?” It was on clearance for $215!
This was back in the stone ages, when we didn’t have face time. If I remember right, Matt explained that the sofa was just like one I had seen before and loved, but it was a different color. I think he did send me a photo (can’t even remember if we had that capability – HAHA), but since I had the house full of littles, I couldn’t leave to check it out. I told him to buy it and if worse came to worse, we could return it.
When Matt got the sofa home, I was so excited! I loved it and it fit the living room perfectly. Like with every piece we bring into our home, I started rearranging and planning for an entire makeover that day. Our living room has come a long way since then and it all started with the sofa.
When I started searching for cottage style sofas for this post, I tried to find one exactly like ours. I couldn’t find an exact match, but I found so many beautiful options that I would definitely put in our living room. I did not include a sofa if I would not put it in our living room.
