I want to thank Window World for partnering with me on the windows on the front of this flip house. We were so enamored with Window World replacement windows that we did the rest of the house with them as well, on our own. All opinions are our own. This is our real experience with Window World.
When we bought our latest flip house, one thing was clear right away: the windows had to go. The home still had its original 1960s aluminum windows, and they were in rough shape. They were drafty, hard to open (if they opened at all), and completely inefficient. Some of the wood around the windows had suffered water damage because the old windows weren’t sealing properly. In the basement, bugs could easily get in, and condensation was constant. It was obvious we needed a serious upgrade. That’s why Window World replacement windows were one of the first things we prioritized.
I want to share the windows before we got them replaced.

You can see why the windows were the top priority with this house. It is not just about aesthetics when you are doing projects like this. It is more about what isn’t working and what has to be done.
After getting the windows done, I wanted to share all about it because I know how overwhelming it can be to research window companies. This isn’t a sponsored post; Window World isn’t paying me to write this blog post. I’m simply offering a real homeowner’s experience. Window World Replacement Windows: An Honest Homeowner’s Review
Why We Chose Window World
There are a lot of window companies out there. However, Window World stood out for a few key reasons:

-
They offer custom-made, energy-efficient vinyl windows.
-
Their pricing is fair and competitive.

-
They back their products with strong warranties.
-
They have a great reputation both locally and nationally.
-
Their customer service was excellent from the very beginning. I am telling you, we had the best experience with the entire team. From the estimate to the installers! Amazing crew and really great people.
We weren’t looking for luxury-priced windows for this flip. Instead, we wanted something high-quality, energy-efficient, and affordable. That’s exactly what we found with Window World replacement windows.
What the Process Looked Like
1. The Free Estimate
My local Window World contact came to the house for a free consultation. We walked the entire exterior of the home together. At each window, I asked plenty of questions about styles, upgrades, and what would work best. Every answer was clear and easy to understand.

Inside, we reviewed each window again. I had specific concerns about window sills and trim, and they addressed them thoroughly. They even brought sample trim pieces to show the interior finish options.

Then, we discussed the different glass types and energy-efficiency ratings. They explained how Window World replacement windows are built and function. They also shared a bit about how the company started, the company’s charitable work, and the warranty that comes with their windows. We can also transfer the warranty one time if we decide to sell this house.

The entire conversation was effortless, informative, and honest. There were NO pushy sales tactics. It felt like talking to a knowledgeable friend, not someone trying to meet a quota. I LOVED how laid-back it was.
2. Choosing Our Windows
Window World replacement windows come in several styles:
-
Double-hung (our choice for some)
-
Casement
-
Sliding (our other choice for some)
-
Bay and bow
-
Garden
-
Basement/hopper

You can also customize the color, grid pattern, and glass type. For this house, we chose a mix of white vinyl sliding and double-hung windows with Low-E glass and argon gas insulation. They’re also ENERGY STAR® certified, which was important to us. The old windows weren’t any of these things, so this part was really important.

3. Ordering & Installation
For us, once we finalized our order, the custom windows were manufactured locally, right here in our city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which was a big bonus.

The subcontractors that Window World uses work almost exclusively for them. They handled every step of the installation. They delivered the windows, did the full installation, sealed everything properly, removed all the old windows, and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. We really appreciated that they took the extra step to cover our newly finished hardwood floors. So many skip that step, but those small efforts make a big difference, and they’re exactly why we’d hire them again.

The difference was immediate. The house looked brighter and cleaner, the drafts were gone, and the windows opened and closed with ease.

Energy Efficiency & Comfort
A huge reason we chose Window World replacement windows was for their energy efficiency. These windows feature Low-E glass and argon gas insulation. That combination helps keep indoor temperatures consistent year-round.

The original aluminum windows in this flip were a whole other story. They let in tons of bugs, didn’t keep air in or out, and had condensation and gaps all around the edges. These windows were installed when the house was built in 1966 and had never been updated. You can’t believe how excited we were to finally get brand-new windows in this project!

Whether you’re living in the home or flipping it, energy-efficient windows are a smart investment. Lower utility bills are a win, and they’re a great selling point for buyers, too.

Let’s Talk Warranties
Window World replacement windows come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty, which is one of the best we’ve seen. Here’s what’s covered:
-
Vinyl frames and sashes – Protected against cracking, warping, peeling, blistering, or corroding.
-
Insulated glass units – If the glass gets cloudy or the seal fails, they come out and replace that section.
-
All moving parts – Including balances and locking mechanisms.
-
Screens – If a screen tears, we can bring it into the local shop and they’ll repair it.
-
Installation workmanship – Ensures everything was installed correctly and performs as expected.
-
Transferability – The warranty transfers to the next homeowner, which adds value when flipping.
Having this kind of support built into the purchase is rare. Knowing we can get torn screens fixed or cloudy glass replaced, with no stress, made a huge difference.
What We Loved Most
-
High-quality windows at a reasonable price.
-
No pressure during the estimate process. This was one of my favorite parts. It wasn’t pushy at all!
- I love the little red dot on the window locks that shows whether they’re locked or not. Such a simple feature, but so smart!
-
Friendly, professional communication.
-
Energy efficiency and a major style upgrade.
-
A solid, long-term warranty.
- They carefully covered all the newly refinished wood floors with tarps and made sure to clean up their entire work area at the end of each day.
Tips If You’re Considering Window World Replacement Windows
-
Compare quotes. It helps you feel more confident in your decision.
-
Ask about energy efficiency. Not all glass packages are the same.
-
Plan ahead. Custom windows take a few weeks to manufacture. Make sure you account for that, especially if you are on a time schedule with a flip house like this one.
-
Read the warranty. Ask questions to fully understand what’s covered.
We had a great experience with Window World replacement windows and would absolutely use them again. They do doors, too, and we may be calling them soon to get a new front door on our own house. Whether you’re flipping or staying in your home long-term, their windows are a smart, cost-effective upgrade.
