I found this little piece at my local Goodwill, and I knew it had so much potential. If you have a small chest of drawers that’s looking tired, you can do this same makeover in just a weekend.

Step-by-Step Tutorial For This Easy Small Chest Of Drawers Makeover
Step 1: Clean It Up
The first thing I always do is give the piece a good cleaning. To see all my tips for cleaning a piece before you paint it, head to my post HERE. I took off all the hardware, cleaned everything, and let it dry.
Step 2: Light Sanding
I grabbed my sander and gave it a quick scuff-sand. You don’t need to take it down to bare wood just enough to give the paint something to grip.
Step 3: Prime
Since I wasn’t using my favorite all-in-one paint, I needed a good primer. I was trying a new paint color on this piece, and it was not all-in-one, so I used this primer first.
Step 4: Paint
This is always the fun part. I tried a new Dixie Belle color on this called Thicket. A couple of light coats with a good brush.
Step 5: Topcoat
Again, since I wasn’t using the all-in-one paint, I needed to add a topcoat. Once the paint was dry, I applied two coats of the matte topcoat.
Step 6: Hardware
I was lucky that I didn’t have to change out any hardware! I used the original hardware that came with the piece, and I think it fits the new color well!

This easy small chest of drawers makeover was simple, and gave this thrifted piece a whole new life. If you have a small dresser sitting around, this is your sign to grab some paint and give it a quick refresh.
