Spring Wreath: Made From Embroidery Hoops & Book Pages

February 28, 2018 21 Comments

I have to warn you that this spring wreath is so easy to make and so cute that you will want to make a ton of them to put all over your house this spring. #springwreathmadness #youhavebeenwarned

No, but really, I love them so much that I will be searching for more embroidery hoops to make more before the season gets here.

When we added the Repurposed Chairs to our entry last fall, I made wreaths that cost less than $2 to hang on the chairs. These wreaths were perfect for fall and winter, but I really wanted to change things up after we hung the framed botanical prints and brightened the walls in our living room a couple of weeks ago.

While out shopping at some of my favorite thrift stores, I came across a bag of embroidery hoops. Ever since I made the embroidery hoop Christmas ornaments last year, embroidery hoops are one of my new favorite things. There are so many possibilities you can do with them and every project I have done with them, I love.

This spring wreath idea came about when I was rearranging things for our family room makeover. I had piles of old books and one was in really bad condition. Instead of tossing it, the idea to use the pages for a spring wreath came to me.

Directions To Make The Spring Wreath:

I stained the embroidery hoop a dark color and while it dried, I taped two book pages together so they were big enough to fit the back of the embroidery hoop. If you had a bigger book, one page would work fine. I traced the stained embroidery hoop over the taped book pages and cut it out.

Then, I hot glued the cut-out book page to the back of the embroidery hoop.

Next, I used floral twine to tie spring greenery to the top of the embroidery hoop.

After that, I made a ribbon bow and hot glued it at the top of the spring greenery.

I used raffia to hang the spring wreath to the repurposed chairs. See, simple to do and cute to boot!!!

I think it would be beautiful to have these in a bunch of different sizes and make a feature wall with them.
